Road to the White House
It seems that the electoral systems in Michigan and Florida are no longer under the control of their respective state electoral commissions, but under the jurisdiction of the Democratic National Committee. The DNC believes that they have the authority to dictate when states can hold elections, and that they are solely responsible for choosing and electing the next President, it sounds as if it is a return to the days of Tammany Hall and political bosses, something that history has stated that died out by the mid-sixties. Obviously bad habits and old corruptions are hard to brake, even in the days when so many candidates are “Agents of Change”, talk is cheap and so is the price of the minds and conciseness of the American voter, it’s being sold to the highest bidder and the smoothest talker, if the individuals and the states do not conform to the will of the DNC then those people; no matter how many or how few, they are told they do not count in the process and that they will be excluded from participating in their own convention because they “did not permission to vote before the official kick-off of the primary season”, with presidential campaigns lasting more than a year already what is a few more days or weeks, to start a political process that is already to long.
With so much talk of the Republican Party disenfranchising voters it seems that the DNC has disenfranchised two entire states, no political party has the right to dictate the time or method by the states choose the delegates or anyone else to serve the residents of the state that they represent, the delegates serve at the will of the people not at the will of the political party with whom the have associated themselves. If the DNC is allowed to enforce their will upon Florida and Michigan then we as a nation will have taken a step back to the time of tyrants and virtual representation, to a time before the Declaration of Independence, to a time of un-redressed grievances. This form of favoritism and corruption must be stopped before it is allowed to grow to the point where political bosses can throw out the decisions of other states if they do not fall into the desired profile of what a few feel is the right way of doing things.
It is time that the DNC and the GOP release their ties on the free election process by which we as a people choose our government, the time of the two party system is coming to and end, and the time when men and women of conviction whom seek not their own greatness but the greatness of the nation is at hand, for if we fail to prevent political parties from controlling our electoral process then we are doomed to fail as a free people. We must remember the words of General George Washington “for if Men are to be precluded from offering their Sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invite the consideration of Mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of Speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter.”
NAFTA, Racism & Treason
NAFTA is an act of treason, pure and simple; it’s not about giving Mexicans jobs or producing products at a lower price and passing the savings along to the consumer, or about retraining displaced workers for better more technical jobs.
NAFTA is about making bigger profits at the expense of the of the domestic workers that are being fed to the wolves of state unemployment agencies that hold onto federal funds as if it is coming out of the pockets of their pants, rather that ensuring that those that are covered under TRA & TAA/ATAA receive all the training and higher education that they need and desire to obtain to ensure that they are able to provide for their families. They mislead, confuse and lie to the employee that has lost their jobs to someone in Mexico who is making less that one tenth of what the American worker was and the profit is passed along to the share holder the company CEO’s and the consumer and the unemployed worker are the ones that are paying the dangerous cost of this un-American behavior.
What will be the cost of the loss of manufacturing in America if we face another global war rather that a global market. America can ill afford to lose its ability to manufacture hard goods and the associated ability to transport those goods rapidly and safely to the US military and our allies. NAFTA and the NAFTA Super Highway will undermine that ability and our national security.
Are we ready to surrender our freedom for the sake of treason and corporate profit? To surrender our families to the greed of corrupt politician’s and company CEO? To giveaway the future of our children to political parties made up of men and women that will spend millions of dollars to get a job that pays less that two hundred thousand dollars a year, what would America be like if the fry guy at McDonalds was to spend thirty thousand dollars to get at twelve thousand dollar a year job and a nurse had to spend two hundred thousand dollars to get a forty thousand dollar a year job? Where are our priorities as a nation and as a people?
My great-grandparents immigrated to America near the end of the 19th century from Germany (my mothers grandparents) and England & Ireland (my fathers grandparents & great-grandparents) because in America if you were willing to work hard you could get ahead and become something, now people come to America because the government will hand them everything and expect nothing in return, and anyone that calls for the new immigrates to learn English and assimilate to the rest of America is a racist. I myself am no racist, the klan, the nazis, and any other hate groups no matter what color or race they are needs to be dealt with in such a way as to make them impotent and of no effect. Racism is the product of ignorant simple minded people who wish to keep not only people of color down, but all people regardless of color, white, black, brown, or any other, racist wish to keep all oppressed, all ignorant, all fighting each other and not working together.
